Are There Different Stages Of Anorexia?
My step daughter has been diagnosed with "eating disorder tendencies". Are there various stages in anorexia? I noticed a couple of years ago that she plays with her food, never finishing meals. Now she says she's hungry but when the food is in front of her, she takes one bite and is full.
She doesn't understand it and she is frustrated. At the same time, I believe she knows what she is doing, and won't acknowledge that its self afflicted. But I am aware that it may be a biological predisposition.
She is now being evaluated by her family doctor and then a therapist. Are there different stages of anorexia? I am just wondering if this is the beginning stages? She eats, although its very little but then there is the odd day she eats her entire meal. Would that be considered binging? I know for a fact that she does not purge.
Any advice would be appreciated.
