Karen Carpenter, the famous singer and drummer from the 1970's died in 1983 at the age of 32. Gymnast Christy Henrich passed away in 1994 at the age of 22.

For famous people with anorexia, the trigger could be a personal or family related issue. It might also be the result of living their lives in the public eye - leaving themselves open to have their every move and every photo scrutinized and degraded by both the media and "fans" alike.

This kind of enormous pressure is more than anyone should have to endure, especially at a young age.
