Inspirational Songs - The Healing Power Of Music
What Motivational Songs Truly Motivate You?

Inspirational songs can be helpful during anorexia recovery, and the healing power of music is not to be under-estimated. Songs can remind that you're not alone, build your self-esteem, or perhaps even transport your mind to a more peaceful place -- giving you a much needed break from the battles going on inside your head.

What are your favorite motivational / inspirational songs? Post them here and maybe we can get a great exchange going!

It's probably safe to say that most of us enjoy listening to music. Heck, the music industry wouldn't be such a booming business if we didn't.

Music seems to be a universal language, and even instrumental music is its "unspoken counterpart".

There are so many genres of music out there that it's impossible to name them all, and probably even more impossible to name all of the inspirational songs on the market. That's why I need your help to compile the list :)

Inspiring, motivational songs come in various styles. The beauty is that each of us is different, and what one person finds to be inspiring may not work for someone else in the same way. And that's perfectly fine. It's what makes the world go 'round.

There are lots of people who find contemporary gospel music, or even southern gospel music very inspirational. I grew up with it, so I happen to find it pretty comforting, but you may prefer something else. If you do, I want to hear from you! Just use the link near the top of this page.

Here are some of my personal favorite inspirational songs and/or artists ...

Sara Westbrook - Canadian Inspirational Singer Songwriter

Inspirational Songs - Sara Westbrook

Sara Westbrook and I met at an eating disorder fundraiser several years ago, and we have been friends ever since.

But she doesn't just sing! Sara is a gifted combination of singer - songwriter - motivational speaker - and advice columnist! She has recorded five CDs -- one of which went Gold.

One of my favorite songs about anorexia is one that Sara released in January 2011, and it's called At War With Myself Sara Westbrook. As you might guess, the song centers around body image and eating disorder issues.

Canadian Singer Anne Murray - 'Let There Be Love', 'You Needed Me'

Throughout my entire life, I knew I could always count on the Music Of Canadian Singer Anne Murray to inspire me, and make me smile.

That was always a personal thing while I was kid, but as I got older, I realized that many, many others shared the same thoughts and feelings.

Anne Murray might be best known for her 1979 smash hit, You Needed Me, which was followed not long after by another Grammy-winner - Could I Have This Dance.

In 1999, Anne Murray released a double-CD of inspirational songs. That CD was entitled, What A Wonderful World.

One of my most favorite inspirational songs of all time came from that CD.

The song was a duet that Anne sang with her daughter, Canadian artist Dawn Langstroth. It was called, Let There Be Love. I loved it the minute I heard it!
