'Little Girl Blue' By Randy Schmidt
The Best Karen Carpenter Bio Ever

Prices Are U.S. Dollars

'Little Girl Blue' by Randy Schmidt happens to be the latest (and best) Karen Carpenter bio to be published since her death in 1983.

Highlights of 'Little Girl Blue' include loads of information and history of The Carpenters music, plus intimate insight into Karen’s anorexia nervosa battle. The book explores her self esteem issues, family relationships, and overall sweet personality.

Randy himself is a long-time fan of The Carpenters. In his book, he admits to being a "spellbound" teenager while watching The Karen Carpenter Story on television in 1989.

He was instantly drawn to Karen's voice and the portrayal of her life. From that day on, Randy vowed to learn more about this extremely talented, but somewhat mysterious singer.

And he certainly did!

Randy has been involved in several high profile documentaries about The Carpenters, and this is his latest venture.

'Little Girl Blue' - What Makes It Different From Other Bio's?

Maybe you've read a Karen Carpenter biography, and maybe you haven't. Still, you may be wondering why 'Little Girl Blue' is any different from the others.

First of all, nearly 10 years of research went into this particular book. Randy Schmidt is the only author who has been able to interview Karen's closet friends, and have their stories actually make it to print.

The focus of this book is mainly Karen Carpenter, but obviously there's mention of other family members because they were an important part of Karen's life.

Have You Read 'Little Girl Blue'?

Karen Carpenter Pictures

This particular Karen Carpenter bio from Randy Schmidt reads like a tragedy - (let's face it, Karen's death from anorexia was just that) - there are lots of interesting details sprinkled throughout.

I particularly enjoyed reading about Karen's early childhood years when they lived in Connecticut. Overall though, the book is a sad one, and parts of it made me just downright angry.

Still, when you read this, you will not be able to put it down. Karen's story is extremely well written, and told in a way that does her and her music justice. She will never be forgotten.

What?!?! You haven't read this book?? It's available here, at Amazon.com if you'd like to get a copy.

If you have already read it, good for you! :) Now you can head over to the books on eating disorders page to read reviews, and to submit your own. I would love to know your thoughts!
